The Fresh Produce & Floral Council held its 16th annual Northern California Golf Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Course at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA. The tournament boasted 144 players with four on-course demo stations. The first place team was Bob Borda, Erick Proffitt, Daniel Russell and Michael Antongiovanni of Grimmway Farms; the second place team featured Jeff Knight (Edge Sales + Retail Services), Mil Mijanovic (Safeway), Rich Thompson (Giumarra) and Geoff Ratto. The Fresh Produce & Floral Council held its second annual Luau, A Mahalo Celebration, on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA. All attendees enjoyed an evening of Lokelani’s Hawaiian dancers with a special fire performance, limbo contest and Hawaiian shirt contest.

The next FPFC event will be the December luncheon and charity auction on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Sheraton Cerritos in Cerritos, CA.

WASHINGTON, DC — The International Fresh Produce Association kicked off The Washington Conference on Sept. 26. Following a day of industry council meetings and the inaugural Produce Economic Forum, attendees convened for an opening reception at the Grand Hyatt Washington, in a downtown neighborhood of the nation’s Capital.

The Southeast Produce Council delivered a Grammy worthy event in its return to Music City for the 2022 Southern Innovations show.

The annual trade show and conference focused on highlighting the latest innovations within the fresh produce industry, from organics and new product developments to technology and unique brand approaches.

In addition to familiar faces, and a few new ones, the show floor featured an interactive silent theater that highlighted innovations: At the Farm, In the Store, On the Menu, and For the Planet. An educational session, What's New from the Consumer View, provided

The Southeast Produce Council highlighted the latest innovations in the fresh produce industry at its Southern Innovations conference and trade show, which took place Sept. 22-24 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. The event drew a sizeable number of attendees and a record number of exhibitors.

SEPC Chairman of the Board Rania Nelson of Westfalia Fruit welcomed everyone to the event, and then she introduced Mike Roberts of Harps Food Stores and Gary Baker of MDI, who recognized the STEP-UPP class.
