The Fresh Produce & Floral Council held its June Membership Luncheon at the Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, CA. This luncheon hosted Master of Ceremonies Katie Gagnon of Grocery Outlet and guest speaker Keena Turner of the 49ers.

Before the luncheon began the 2023 FPFC Apprentices had an educational session with an AgTech panel hosted by Walt Duflock of Western Growers Association with panelists Paul Elliott of FarmWise, Curtis Gardner of Verdant Technologies, Clint Masterson of Bear Flag Robotics and Briana Giampaoli of Live Oak Farms.

For the second year in a row the International Fresh Produce Association played host to retailers and their supply chain partners at the Retail Conference. Attendees enjoyed a picture perfect day on Chicago’s Willow Crest golf course, mixed it up at the evening reception, and spent Thursday, June 8 discussing educational sessions on a range of industry topics concerning consumer trends, supply chain challenges, food as medicine and the foundations of forging strong professional partnerships. Next year’s venue will be in Phoenix, AZ, with dates still to be determined.

Floriexpo 2023, held from May 31 to June 2 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, was an extraordinary three-day event that brought together floral vendors and mass market floral buyers from a wide range of sectors. Supermarkets, chain stores, wholesale florist distributors, online retailers and more were united under one roof. The expo showcased an extensive selection of products, spanning from fresh cut flowers and greens to potted plants, containers, plush, technology, gift items, logistics and everything in between.
