Big Y Foods Inc. has named John P. Fraro vice president of fresh foods and Steve Nordstrom vice president of center store. Both report to Michael R. Cormier, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Fraro will be responsible for all aspects of Big Y’s fresh departments, including produce, floral, meat, seafood, bakery, deli and kitchen. He started his career at Big Y in 2005 as an assistant food service/kitchen manager after having held positions in meat, bakery and deli for two other retailers previously.

Schnuck Markets Inc. announced Kim Gray will lead the company’s merchandising team as chief merchant, succeeding Ryan Cuba, who will become the company’s first chief growth officer.

Gray brings to Schnucks more than 20 years of merchandising and leadership experience across fresh, center store and e-commerce category management. Gray previously held senior merchandising roles at Ahold Delhaize USA, Hannaford Supermarkets and Food Lion. The International Fresh Produce Association announced the slate of new officers and directors for the 2025 IFPA board of directors. The volunteer leaders will be confirmed by a ballot shared with membership and begin its board service at the 2024 Global Fresh Produce & Floral Show, Oct. 17-19 in Atlanta.
