Larry Tetner, a longtime produce veteran and a former owner of Northwest Produce Co., passed away peacefully on the evening of June 25 from complications associated with cancer. He was 78 and a resident of Lakeville, MN.

Mr. Tetner, along with his father, Meyer and sisters Sharron, Betty, Joanne and Frances, owned and operated Northwest Produce Co. in Minneapolis from 1964 until 1988, with the help of family and friends. The business specialized in catering to wholesale distributors from Thunder Bay to Calgary in Canada, and Minnesota and North Dakota in the Upper Midwest.

The Healthy Family Project Publix Produce for Kids cause marketing campaign took place May 11 through June 21 with 13 produce companies donating 775,000 meals to the 35 Feeding America network food banks in the Publix market area. This is the campaign’s 21st year and has raised more than $3.8M for causes that support families and children in the Publix communities and helped provide more than 13 million meals to Feeding America network food banks.
