The Fresh Produce & Floral Council board of directors announced that Don Gann has been named the president of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council.

Gann joined the FPFC after spending over 35 years with Stater Bros. Markets. He was brought on to the FPFC staff in October of 2020 as the interim executive director and quickly began diving into the FPFC’s membership and events. Throughout 2020 and 2021, Gann has been working with the board and its committees planning for the future of the FPFC and what the events will look like moving forward. GR Fresh, a leading grower-shipper and distributor of Mexican vegetables, held a grand opening of its new state-of-the-art warehouse and cold storage facility, in McAllen, TX, on May 26.

BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. announced that Darryl Brown has been named to the company’s board of directors, effective immediately.

Janke will be responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the company’s produce business’ sales, marketing and fulfillment teams, working in the company’s Lake Mary, FL, corporate offices. 

Janke will be concentrating on both short- and longer-term initiatives, including the strategy for the company’s future opportunities within the evolving Controlled Environment Agriculture sphere.
