The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on Island Fresh De Puerto Rico Inc. in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, for violating the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include barring the business and the principal operators of the business from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without approval from USDA.

Frutura has signed a licensing agreement with The Coca-Cola Co. This is the first time The Coca-Cola Co. has licensed one of its brands for use within the fresh produce category. U.S. Customs & Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa port of entry intercepted 3.52 million fentanyl pills weighing 776 pounds concealed within a shipment of green beans, worth an estimated street value of $21.12 million.
