Inc. announced a CEO succession plan under which Susan Morris, executive vice president and chief operations officer, will assume the role of CEO following the planned retirement of Vivek Sankaran, effective May 1, 2025. During the transition period, Morris will work closely with Sankaran to continue execution of the company’s Customers for Life strategy. On the effective date, Morris will join the Albertsons Cos. The tariffs President Donald Trump planned to put in place on Canadian and Mexican goods went into effect just after midnight. As initially planned, a 25 percent duty was put in effect for all imports from Mexico as well as most goods from Canada. Trump also added an extra 10 percent tariff on goods from China, 20 percent total.
