Glenn Beckham, a longtime member of the produce industry, died March 12. He was 77. 

Mr. Beckham was born on July 3, 1946, in Tulsa, OK, to Earl and Geneva Beckham.  He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1965.  As a man of faith, he attended Phillips University in Enid, OK, with the goal of becoming a minister.  Although he was in Enid, his heart was in Broken Arrow with Barbara Landrith, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. The two were married on May 27, 1966, at Broken Arrow’s First Christian Church.

Jeffrey Nagelberg, founder of Panorama Produce Sales, came into this world in 1945 as a proud member of a multi-generational New York produce family. He left 78 years later having done his part to uphold the tradition and pass the torch to the next generation.

Nagelberg died on Sept. 22, 2023, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.

His story began shortly after the turn of the 20th century, when his grandfather, Albert Nagelberg, emigrated to the United States from Austria in 1906 as an eight-year-old with only his younger brother accompanying him on the ocean voyage. Their parents

The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association announced the promotion of Tori Rumenik to director of commodity services and supply chain.

“Tori has a passion for our growers, and I am grateful that she has chosen to share that passion with FFVA,” said FFVA President Mike Joyner. “Her commitment to our industry is unwavering and the respect of her peers is unmatched.”

Rumenik joined FFVA in 2019 as a manager focused on supply chain issues and commodity services, including the management of the Sunshine Sweet Corn Farmers of Florida and Florida Vegetable Exchange.

Baldor Specialty Foods announced that Satyan Parameswaran has joined the company as chief digital and innovation officer.

Parameswaran comes to Baldor after 21 years at United Parcel Service, where he most recently acted as the president of information technology. In this most recent role, he oversaw the global technology infrastructure that helps UPS deliver more than 20 million packages every day. His remit included technology functions related to shipping, visibility, tracking, customer care, billing, revenue management, UPS.com, UPS stores and sales.

In order to enhance its sustainability efforts, GLC Cerritos LLC, a leading grower-shipper of avocados from the Mexican state of Jalisco, has hired Armando Garcia as director of sustainability.  This newly created position will evaluate current sustainability initiatives with in the company and define a strategy for future projects.
