North American greenhouse lettuce grower Revol Greens has hired produce industry veteran Matt Roy as vice president of foodservice. Roy brings more than 25 years of fresh produce and controlled environment agriculture experience to the role.

Leroy Goehring started his agricultural career in Bakersfield, CA, in the late 60s and is retiring from the business about 80 miles up the road in Visalia more than a half century later. But the short distance between start and finish doesn’t begin to tell the story of a diversified career that included stints in New York City, Seattle and Reno, NV.

Goehring was born in Bakersfield on the family farm in 1942, where his father grew several crops, including potatoes, cotton and citrus. Citrus would become his specialty.

Produce industry veteran Jamey Higham will become the next president and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission, effective in early 2022.

Born and raised in Idaho potato country, Higham says he is looking forward to building on the spud’s strong global reputation for high quality. “IPC has done a tremendous job of stewarding the brand, and I’m very humbled and excited for this opportunity,” said Higham, whose high school in Shelley, ID, was represented by a russet potato mascot. “I started in the potato industry in 1991, and it’s in my blood.”
