Church Brothers Farms is expanding its sales team as the company continues to grow its retail sales program.

Produce veteran Jason Grolnick joined the company as a new retail account manager. Grolnick has more than 25 years of experience in the fresh produce industry, having spent time with companies such as Markon Cooperative, Newstar Fresh Foods, Tanimura & Antle and Ippolito. His specific role at Church Brothers will be to support current retail customers and continue the expansion of the company’s retail program. Save A Lot, one of the largest discount grocery chains in the U.S., announced the appointment of Trey Johnson as its new chief merchandising officer. Johnson will report directly to Save A Lot CEO Leon Bergmann.

Walmart Inc. announced that John Rainey has been named its next executive vice president and chief financial officer. Rainey will assume the responsibilities of CFO on June 6.

Pace International, a leading provider of sustainable postharvest solutions and technologies for the fresh produce industry, hired Veria Alvarado as a postharvest physiology manager for the Pace International Global Research organization.

Alvarado will lead research that looks to identify novel concepts and applications in the postharvest arena. She will conduct research at Valent BioSciences’ Biorational Research Center and Pace research facilities, as well as support customers in the field.
