Ball’s Food Stores announced the certification of 100 employees by the American National Standards Institute and the Conference for Food Protection.  Ball’s Foods employees participated in an intensive, seven-hour training course focused on proper food handling, food preparation and food storage along with food safety and sanitation standards that are required by the FDA and USDA through the Food Safety Modernization Act.

After passing the certification test, department managers, store managers and senior leadership earned accreditation and a certificate from the National Registry of Food

G&R Farms is celebrating its 75th Anniversary with a new consumer marketing campaign promoting its family’s legacy along with its sweet onions from Peru.  The campaign will feature G&R’s rich history and heritage along with its focus on sustainability with its recent Rainforest Alliance certification.

Specialty grocer The Fresh Market is holding a national holiday hiring event for seasonal and part-time team members. The event will take place at all 159 store locations Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with qualified applicants receiving on-the-spot interviews.

The Fresh Market is looking to add 1,500 team members for the holiday season across the company. Candidates are encouraged to apply online at The Fresh Market’s website before attending the hiring event so specific interview times can be scheduled, but walk-ins will be accepted as well.

The Wonderful Company, which is dedicated to harvesting health around the world, has chosen its first 15 nonprofit organizations and schools in California’s Central Valley, including its largest grantees, the California Farmworker Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, and California State University, Bakersfield, to receive funding from its COVID-19 relief fund. The special fund is part of the Wonderful Community Grants program.

The $1 million COVID-19 relief fund was established in August 2020 to support local programs, services, and resources that were affected by COVID-19
