Robert R. Glasser, a member of the produce industry for more than 60 years, died peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 22. He was 87.

Mr. Glasser was born Nov. 20, 1933 in Los Angeles to Jacob and Rose Glasser. He joined his father in the family-owned food importing, processing and distribution business Torn & Glasser after graduating from UCLA and serving a two-year commitment with the US Army, first in in El Paso and then finishing in Hollywood.

For over 60 years, Mr. Glasser started his workday at 2 a.m., opening across from the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. He lived life to the fullest

A total of 145 Costco employees in Yakima County, WA, have tested positive for COVID-19. All 145 individuals that have tested positive are currently completing their isolation or quarantine period, according to the Yakima Health District, which continues to investigate the outbreak.

Gladstone Land Corp. has acquired approximately 1,670 total acres of farmland and facilities located San Joaquin County, CA, and Whatcom County, WA. The acquisition includes approximately 1,390 planted acres of organic and conventional blueberries, as well as a fresh packing and cooling facility. In connection with the acquisition, Gladstone Land entered into a 10-year, triple-net leaseback agreement with the seller.
