Calavo Growers Inc., a global leader in the avocado and value-added fresh food industries, announced the promotion of Ron Araiza to executive vice president of Calavo Fresh Foods.

In his new role, Araiza will be responsible for leading the Renaissance Food Group and Calavo Foods business segments. SAN DIEGO — Avocado-producing nations from around the world were represented July 31-Aug. 1 at the World Avocado Organization’s second annual World Avocado Cup Regatta, co-sponsored by the Peruvian Avocado Commission and the California Avocado Commission.

Following the first day of the race on July 31, a reception was held at the San Diego Yacht Club, where winners of the inaugural race in 2019 were recognized and the World Avocado Cup trophy was unveiled. The SDYC, one of the top yacht clubs in the world, hosted the event and the cup will remain there in perpetuity.
