BJ’s Wholesale Club, a leading operator of membership warehouse clubs in the Eastern United States, is awarding its club and distribution center team members with a recognition bonus in appreciation of their continued hard work and commitment to serving BJ’s members. Hapco Farms, a leading broccoli shipper based in Westhampton Beach, NY, with growing areas in Maine, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and New York, is expanding its broccoli acreage via a growing partnership with Titan Farms.

Titan Farms, based in Ridge Spring, SC, and perhaps best known as a leading peach grower on the East Coast, has added broccoli and peppers to its roster over the years. Under the terms of the partnership, Titan will oversee day-to-day growing operations for Hapco.

The Guatemalan Produce Trade Association reported fresh vegetable imports from Guatemala have increased year-over-year.  According to USDA/FAS statistics significant volumes in several key vegetable categories have risen, including beans (up 10 percent), tomatoes (up 14 percent), peas (up 3 percent) and cauliflower (up 140 percent).
