Partnership for a Healthier America celebrated an expanded nutrition program with Instacart and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett as part of their ongoing collaboration to increase affordable access to healthy and nutritious food in Indianapolis. The program will connect 640 Indianapolis families in need with free grocery delivery on orders over $35 and a monthly Fresh Funds stipend to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables using Instacart.

BJ's Wholesale Club is adding five clubs to its growing portfolio across the United States. The expansion includes plans for a new club in Madison, AL, increasing BJ’s retail footprint to 20 states.

BJ’s will also open clubs in Mt. Juliet, TN, Johnson City, NY, Lewis Center, OH, and North Jacksonville, FL. These clubs add to BJ’s 2023 roster of openings, following the retailer’s newest locations in Davenport, FL, and McDonough, GA, as well as the recent announcement of BJ’s first-ever club in the state of Tennessee slated to open this summer in LaVergne.

Throughout the early part of March, United Supermarkets teamed up with Rainier Fruit to donate more than 5,000 pairs of socks across Texas through the Pears for Pairs initiative. More than 20,000 pairs of socks have been donated through this program over the last four years.

During the fall and winter months in 2022, a portion of the proceeds from the purchase of Rainier Fruit pears and apples went to purchasing brand new socks to donate to organizations that support those experiencing homelessness — “Pears for Pairs.”

The International Fresh Produce Association’s Rebeckah Adcock and John Hollay traveled to Texas the first week of March to bring IFPA’s advocacy priorities to industry members, partners and policy makers.

Adcock, IFPA's vice president of government relations, participated in the Western Caucus Foundation’s Agriculture Summit and Field Tour in Fort Worth.  The event brought together over a dozen Western Caucus members, including Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) and Agriculture Committee Chair (GT) Thompson; over 40 congressional staff and important stakeholders.
