Associated Food Stores and Symbotic Inc. have entered into a commercial agreement to implement Symbotic’s A.I.-powered robotic warehouse automation technology in AFS’ Utah distribution center.

Symbotic’s end-to-end automation system, with robotic case pick capabilities, will allow AFS’ distribution center to improve a variety of retail-facing experiences, including overall supply, expanded selection and delivery of products to stores.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has determined that a laboratory error incorrectly caused the recent recall announcement concerning lēf Farms "Spice" Packaged Salad Greens. The products from lēf Farms are safe and the recall has been canceled.

On May 5, a statement was issued regarding a potential contamination of Escherichia coli O157 bacteria of a specific lot of lēf Farms "Spice" Packaged Salad Greens. Upon being informed, lēf Farms voluntarily initiated a recall of the potentially affected products, prioritizing the health and safety of their customers

The Southeast Produce Council's 2023 STEP-UPP class toured five farms in South Carolina in mid-April to learn more about the farming aspect of fresh produce while helping to build and strengthen relationships between buyers and sellers.

The Center for Produce Safety will hold its 2023 Research Symposium June 20-21 in Atlanta, with a focus on making its research learnings relatable to industry.
