The Giant Co. is counting down to its 100th anniversary. To kick off the celebration, The Giant Co. is launching its Make a Difference Challenge, a new initiative focused on supporting communities through nonprofit organizations whose work has a direct impact on creating a future that promotes healthier people and a healthier planet.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on four produce businesses for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include suspending the businesses’ PACA licenses and barring the principal operators of the businesses from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without approval from USDA.

The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry:

The two chains will leverage the Instacart Platform to introduce new e-commerce capabilities and launch a new retail media network using Instacart’s Carrot Ads solution.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture filed an administrative complaint against American Fruit & Produce Corp. for alleged violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. The company, operating from Florida, allegedly failed to make payment promptly to eighteen produce sellers in the amount of $1.03 million from March 2018 through October 2022.

The company will have an opportunity to request a hearing. Should USDA find that the company committed repeated and flagrant violations, it would be barred from the produce industry as a licensee for three years, or two years with the posting
