The persistent high-pressure ridge out west looks to finally move to the east late this week, bringing near-seasonal temperatures to the Salinas and Santa Maria valleys. This is welcome relief from the hot temperatures, allowing crops to recover in the fields.
Lettuce and leafy green crops are in good supply and generally good quality with some fringe burn, an elongated core/seeder and slightly dehydrated texture. These supplies will continue to show some premature pinking along the ribs that is not seen during harvest and tends to show up during transit and storage. The hot temperatures
