Although it’s only mid-November, poinsettias will be arriving very soon at garden centers – some may have already arrived – for the holiday and Christmas season.

In many people’s minds, the traditional poinsettia color is red. And let’s face it: A red poinsettia is beautiful. But red is not the only color available.

IFTF Vijfhuizen 2022, the International Floriculture Trade Fair is where the world's floriculture industry gathered Nov. 9-11 in Vijfhuizen, Netherlands. Launched in 2010, this 3 day trade exhibition promoted the trade of fresh flowers & plants, while aiming to increase production and consumption at the same time.

With almost 300 exhibitors from over 30 countries and more than 25.000 trade visitors from over 100 countries, IFTF provided a platform where the best and newest available products could be found, and latest developments and trends were discussed.

The IFTF, held from Nov. 9 to 11, brought one of world’s largest selection of flowers in the recently enlarged exhibition center Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen. Flower growers, traders and suppliers from all over the world displayed their best and newest products on the 26.000 m2 sized exhibition floor.

Willem ‘Bill’ Hofman, age 78, passed away on Nov. 2nd. Mr. Hofman was instrumental to the development of the greenhouse industry in the US.
